LinkMobile (Meta Quest) and LinkMobile Host (Android) - Effective 9 October 2026

Summary

Your screen, sound and touch input never leave your own devices: they go directly from your phone to your Meta Quest over your local network. To sign in and to manage your LinkMobile Pro subscription we use your Google account (name, email address and a user ID) through Firebase Authentication, a Google service. We do not sell or share your data, and we have no analytics or advertising.

Who we are

LinkMobile (the Meta Quest app) and LinkMobile Host (the Android phone app) are published by BATLAB. Contact: info@batlab.store. Effective date: 9 October 2026.

What the apps use, and why

Screen content: while you are sharing, LinkMobile Host captures this phone's screen using Android's screen capture (MediaProjection). Android asks for your approval each time. The picture is compressed and sent straight to your paired Quest. It is not saved and it is not sent to us or to anyone else.

Phone audio: to play phone sound (music, videos) on the Quest, the phone app captures media playback audio. Android requires the "Record audio" permission for this. Your microphone is not recorded. Phone call audio cannot be captured by apps and is not sent.

Touch control: when you use the Quest controller, touch positions and button presses (Back, Home, Recents) are sent to the phone and carried out using Android's Accessibility Service. The Accessibility Service is used only to perform these taps, swipes and actions. It is not used to read, record or send what is on your screen, what you type, or your passwords.

Local network: the Quest finds the phone on your Wi-Fi or hotspot (mDNS / NSD) and connects directly to it. The phone only accepts connections from devices on its own private network.

Notifications: used to show the sharing notification with a Stop button.

System settings (optional): if you turn on the related options, the phone app lowers screen brightness and mutes media volume while a Quest is connected, and puts them back afterwards. For brightness it needs the "Modify system settings" permission.

Data stored on your devices

Only what is needed to reconnect: the names and random IDs of paired devices, a secret key for each pairing, the last network address used, and your settings. This stays on the device. Removing a device, using "Forget", or uninstalling the app deletes it. The apps do not allow Android cloud backup of this data.

Data we collect

Account: when you sign in with Google, Firebase Authentication gives us your email address, your name and a user ID. We use them only to sign you in and to link your LinkMobile Pro subscription to your account. To protect sign-in against abuse, Firebase Authentication also processes your IP address and basic device information (user agent).

Subscription: Google Play handles payments. We never see your card or bank details. Google Play tells the app whether your subscription is active. The purchase is linked to a one-way code made from your user ID (not your email).

We do not receive your screen, audio, touch input, location, contacts, files or advertising identifiers.

Deleting your account

In the phone app open Settings, tap your account at the top, then tap Delete account. Or email info@batlab.store from the address you signed in with, subject "Delete account", and we delete it within 30 days. This removes your sign-in data (email, name, user ID). Google keeps its own purchase records, and deleting the account does not cancel a subscription: cancel it in Google Play first.

Security

A new device is paired with a one-time 6-digit code that expires after a short time, and you must confirm the pairing on the phone by comparing a check number shown on both screens. After pairing, the connection between phone and Quest is encrypted (AES-256-GCM, keys agreed with an ephemeral elliptic-curve key exchange). No system is perfectly secure: only pair devices you own, on networks you trust, and stop sharing when you are done.

Sharing with others

We do not sell or share your data. Firebase (Google LLC) stores the account data for us as our service provider, and it may be processed outside your country. Google Play processes payments under Google's own terms and privacy policy.

Children

The apps are not directed to children under 13, and children under 13 may not create an account. If you believe a child has signed in, contact us and we will delete the account.

Your choices

You can stop sharing at any time, forget any paired device, switch off the Accessibility Service, remove permissions in Android settings, sign out, delete your account, cancel your subscription in Google Play, or uninstall the apps.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for important changes, show a notice in the app.
